A Montreal borough's plan to pay tribute to late sovereigntist premier Jacques Parizeau by changing the name of a park that currently honours Vimy Ridge is being blasted by some critics as disrespectful to Canada's war history.
I usually never agree with Bob Rae. Hell I never agree with Bob Rae but on this one I'll back him 100%. He's right on the money with the insulting label but, since we're on a roll. We should also add disrespectful, hateful, vindictive and contemptuous.
Paying this compliment to a man who tried to tear the country apart by destroying a monument to the men who died making it that country is beyond hateful and I'd hope that the population of Quebec and Canada would stand up to these assholes and at least make an attempt to try and stop them from carrying out their vile plan.
"2Cdo" said I find it ironic that with the Liberals in power that once again the separatists are rearing their ugly head.
What a load of shit. You honestly think there's a connection between the party in power and the level of separatist sentiment? You really are suffering from Liberal Derangement Syndrome.
Agree or disagree with separatism but it is a political reality for this country, and has been since Day #1. To deny it as part of our history and culture is silly revisionism.

How am I denying it?
Two referendums that occured during Liberal rule and just a few months into Juniors term it rears its head again. I understand that the sentiment is always there lurking in the background but found it funny that it seems to crawl out of the dark place during the Libs turn in power.

It's "rearing its head", is it? Give yours a shake.
Hmmm, facts seem to annoy you when they don't coincide with your already made up mind.
