Lucky man. Sounds like a horrible way to die. I took a snow cave buiding course. The first cave we dug was perfect. The instructor said OK, that's mine, now build your own. We were wet and freezing by this point and it was getting dark, so the second one we built was not so good. Over night it settled to the point you could not sit up. Pretty spooky feeling. But it was warm and very quiet.
