What really surprises me about this article is this...

But the laws of political science hold that Broun will likely win re-election to a fourth term. He has no Democratic opponent in the election Nov. 6 and Georgia law requires write-in candidates to register by early September. That, and Darwin is long dead.

A riding without an opponent? So voters in this riding have no choice?

Even scarier is that he's on the Science, Space and Technology Committee. He's entitled to his religious beliefs, and his constituents are entitled to agree and to vote for him, but who the hell was stupid enough to put a man who doesn't believe in science on a science committee?
