Happy now?
But i guess you already got that figured out.
No dipshit, if during one of the mentioned firefights, an unarmed afgan civilian had of been struck down, there would be 7 pages of discussion here, led by the likes of you, calling me and my colleagues murderers. Just 1 fucking IED or parts there of, off "the street" increases the odds that not only one of my comrades won't get smoked, but also as IED's do not pick their targets, innocent non-combatants.
But i guess you already got that figured out.
You should review my posts. Don't think I've ever called a soldier a murderer, except those guys that were convicted of just that. I don't want to see Afghani civilians get killed, but I'm actually much more concerned about our troops. I don't want them giving their lives in a futile endeavor, only to have people argue we can't quit because it makes their death futile, so we have another bunch killed and round and round we go.
Of course removing weapons from the enemy briefly increases odds you won't get injured - until the enemy resupplies, which he doesn't seem to have any problem doing, since Pstan is right next door. And taking some of their drugs might briefly put a crimp in their money supply, but in light of what's out there, it's like saying a cop bust has put a crimp in the ganges - not for long. Face it, you're doing a King Kanute here. To win you'd have to bomb the shit out of the whole country, and even then the Russkies weren't too successful trying that. And even if you kill every Taliban, there's plenty more where they come from - Pstan. You don't solve Pstan you don't solve Astan, and you can't slove Pstan with troops. Not everything can be fixed with a hammer.
I guess your solution is to not be proactive?
Did you read the article? Is the task Force Cmdr going to you for the latest int, because it sounds to me that you have enemy movements down pat.

Sorry, I don't get what you're saying here, seems like a non-sequitur. Or are you saying that the Taliban don't get their weapons and men from Pstan, and melt back across the border if things get briefly too hot for them? You're not seriously claiming we're winning in Astan, are you? Man you'd make the perfect spokesman for the narcs if you ever leave the forces.
