Closed on commenting. How convenient. And here I was, just wanting more information, that the RCMP couldn't supply, certainly to -ahem- "respect the childs privacy".
I do hope (although do not expect) that they looked to see if the poor kid was armed as he left.
HAhaha, I like how people are backing the cops. I don't care if a child is armed with a knife or not. The fact that there is likely more than 1 cop, the cop is wearing a vest, has hand to hand training, and is at least more than 2 or 3 times the size of this 11 year old kid means that reasonable force was not used to de-escalate the situation. This is a text book example of what NOT to do.
Much like the situation in the Vancouver air port where there was 6 cops surrounding a guy with his hand up in submition and they still decided to taser him which caused his death.
Use your training and grow some balls RCMP. Your job is dangerous and you volunteered for it so take some fucking responsibility for your actions.

Grab a brain. Training or not police aren't expected to just get stabbed if there is other means to subdue someone.

Grow a dick. You aren't gonna get stabbed by an 11 year old child if you sparta kick him in the face. Better than giving him an electric shock and potentially causing his heart to stop especially after this whole mess about the safety of taser guns. It would be best to apply your advice to the officer (coward) who caused this PR nightmare.
"PublicAnimalNo9" said Right, cuz a kick in the face that could cause brain damage or snap the kid's neck is much better. Yeah, much better than a taser

Come on, you know as well as I do, a boot to the face is the way a man deals with an 11 year old with a knife. Tasers are for pussies! That officer should have opened up a can of w00p a$$ and got in nice and personal! Get some!
It's much to easy to sit back and play armchair general. He may have made a mistake he may have done the right thing, we cant tell because we do not have enough information.

I'll comment when we get the whole picture.

Even though they do not say,Whether the boy Was armed with a knife When they tazered him. A knife is very easily concealed.
But this does seem to be , an instance where the tazer was used correctly.
Hopefully it was a single Shot And the officer Was trained to properly monitor The child's Health after.
I live in PG, and according to the story in the newspaper he did indeed come out armed with a knife. Hence he was tasered.

I like when they give you a police story, but just part of it.

+1 Too right.
Yeah, much better than a taser
Right, cuz a kick in the face that could cause brain damage or snap the kid's neck is much better.
Yeah, much better than a taser
...or a bullet.
