Furor over boys sleeping outside in Iqaluit

IQALUIT, Nunavut - An Arctic community is angry over photos of two young boys sleeping on a sidewalk, curled up fast asleep in the early morning among cigarette butts and garbage cans outside a grocery store.

Ban alcohol or something.

"Some, however say the photos shouldn't have been released and it's the parents, not the RCMP or the social services system, who are at fault."

How the hell did she try to blame the RCMP for this? Of course it is the parents fault.

It's ashame that tax dollars are spent defending and for appeals of US military deserters instead of insuring our young people are safe

Don't forget its a 24 hour day, with 24 hour daylight. If they were found there asleep at 2 in the pm, what would the reaction have been?

I strongly believe it's a different culture/mentality up there... Not 9-5 as we have...

Boys will be boys. I did this when I was 11 or 12. Thought we'd be cool and wounder around all night. At about 4 in the morning we crashed in a playground, would of much rather slept beside the old bank with the brick walls because it was so much warmer from retaining the day time heat, but we didn't want to get caught.
