NATO leaders ended the alliance's 60th-annivesrary summit by agreeing on a new leader and on an Afghanistan strategy that calls for more resources to train and support the Afghan National Army and police force.
I don't think they will unless the people of Europe force the leaders hands to the task. The underlying point Obama made there was you can criticize the US all you want but that isn't going to get the economy back or stop the threat of attacks, oh and btw they will attack Europe before they attack the US anyway.
It doesn't matter what Canada has done, or does. Never has and never will. Canada is just that country that will protect other countries and go out of there way and when it commits to something you can always count on it to stay commited to there obligations. Like when we entered Afghanistan and took the most violent region while most other NATO countries diddn't enter and others only took the green zones.
It seems the only way to get any respect anymore is to either be a european nation or be a warmongering nation with a big military. I bet China if they joined NATO would have more power than Canada would.
Canada doesn't seem to be an "equal" member of this alliance.
Still stay a part of NORAD though.
So much for McKays dreams....
He did great I thought and he came out ahead and a serious contender.
