TORONTO -- Universal health care is something many Canadians cherish and want to fiercely protect, but a new study finds it lags far behind the standard of care that is commonplace in Western Europe.
Comparisons are of questionable value. If one goes to the hospitals in , the less populous areas of England, one finds both facility and attendant care conditions that most Canadians would find unacceptable. I'm sure the same exists in many smaller population centres in Europe. We have it pretty good in Canada, considering how much we spend on health care, and how much of that is flat-out WASTED.
NDP is the shit, all people vote for is Liberals or Conservatives and look where that gets us. No where. Not to mention, NDP actually gets shit done when people actually give them the power to do so.
The report says it is not unusual for these waits to cumulatively exceed a year.
FFS, it took my father a year to see a neurologist.
And why the hell do Canadians have to see a doctor to get a prescription refilled? I get prescriptions filled using the keypad of my telephone, or, failing that, by calling my doctors office.
29 Western Europe countries? huh? There are not 29 WESTERN Europe countries... I wonder which countries they are talking about? Every country further east than Germany is considered EAST Europe... Except for Italy, Norway, Sweden and Finland... I come to 20, including Vatican City, Lichtenstein, Andorra and Monaco...
Anyway, all nitpicking aside, if you compare the Canadian system with the, for example Dutch one, of course the Dutch one is better. Much more expensive per capita too, so you can expect it to be a bit better, eh?

Based on what observation? I remember the last NDP government in BC. Not good. ...and the one and only, never-to-be-again NDP government in Ontario just about destroyed it....oh yeah...Bob Rae was so rotten as NDP Premier, he became a Federal Liberal...
...and in B.C....Ujjal Dosanjh was so rotten as NDP Premier, he also became a Federal Liberal....
Anyone see a trend here ? Is it some kind of "born-again-as-a-different-a'hole-socialist" regurgitative phenomenon ?

I'm no supporter of the NDP, but WTF are you talking with Dosanjh? He was the best of the 3 NDP Premieres of that era, although probably because he had the least amount of time to do anything. That said, he was very reasonable.

If he was the best it was because he didn't do anything. I've always wondered why he didn't join the federal NDP.
Though in all seriousness, we really need to step up and get this fixed.

NDP
Taliban Jack and his 'socialist' agendy
no thanks
Plus I do NOT agree on their stance on crime, gun control nor social programs.
Hence no vote from me

Just like the BC Liberals, they're different from their national counterparts. But yeah, it didn't work out so well.
