So lets see how this could play out. Criminal owns a gun, criminal see's this coming and buys a gun that's not registered. New system is put into place. People who have guns and have them registered must now turn guns in. Criminal knows that any place he or she wants to rob has an almost 0% chance of defending themselves from me, the criminal, with a gun. All criminal has to do is get away before cops show up.

The killers are also the guys with guns that fuckheads always send out to seize guns.

There�s no gun ban coming and no way to legally purchase an unregistered handgun. It used to be that you couldn�t legally purchase any unregistered firearm but the last conservative government torched the long gun registry so now long gun owners cannot be held accountable when one of their guns is used in a crime.

They couldn't before if they reported their gun stolen.

Remember: Laws and registries and shit only govern the law-abiding. Do you think for a moment that a 90's gang-banger thought at all about registering his AK?

Why should a victim of theft and robbery be "held accountable" for anything at all if what was stolen from them is used for nefarious activities by a criminal? Different animal, a registry is different than a law. Or he had it smuggled into to Canada. And generally when you buy black market, you don't get a receipt.

AK's generally are not made in Canada, they are made in countries where your vaunted registry would be useless.

It�s actually not been proven where the majority of crime guns come from but regardless of what proportion of crime guns are smuggled vs being �lost� by so-called �responsible gun owners� in Canada doesn�t matter. Lax gun control means more guns in the hands of criminals.
