Yes, pastured costs more, because the cows aren't fatter and bring in less pre pound. But on the plus side, we don't have to clear large swaths of forest to grow soy or grain (and fertilize them), to feed to cows to make them obese. So many layers of environmental damage are skipped, and you end up with a better product.
