Alright that proves it to me, Palin should in no way be able to have any sort of control over the American military.

Video or it didn't happen. Oh wait.......lol

Good stuff, potentially more wacky christians at the helm of one of the world's largest armed forces. I'm sure atheist Chinese and Russians are having a laugh.

Sounds like she's asking people to pray for GOD's guidence in these matters. Asking people to pray about God's plan when it comes to the war in Iraq.

"That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."

Its called asking for devine guidence. Something all Christians should do.

Then explain this little nugget about Iraq being a task from god. Religious wing nuts like her tend to make sure a command from god is done no matter what. Why is that some times when Yahweh gives a 'believer' a task to do, a lot of innocent people die?

Does that explain why when the federal stem cell funding bill was being discussed in congress, G.W Bush, instead of visiting leading academic research institutions and talking to people who know about the issue of bio-technology and multi-cellular organisms, he went to talk to the pope?

Eisensapper, do you not believe in Jesus Christ?

Actually it's nice to see a person so devoted to their beliefs to ask God for guidance.

Obama : You will see a light... yadda yadda yadda

I think a Christ figure may have existed. Was he the embodiment of a deity born onto this world to die for our sins, to then become a zombie, to further be involved in a ritual act of cannibalism... no. Thats not to say the message put forth from the bible about him isnt noble, but you can see where I am getting at. I think both of them should cut the religious dogma out of their speeches.

Just wondering why it's apparently now OK for Barack Obama to have part of his worldview shaped by a nutcase church and a whackjob preacher but wrong for Sarah Palin to do the same? Just in case anyone forgot, YouTube and the other video sites have lots of the Rev. Wright cheerleading for the Apocalypse On Whitey's America crap which was equally as noxious as what Palin's evangelical buddies were saying.

Not to say that if I were a Yank that I'd be sure to vote McCain/Palin, but this so-called controversy just reeks of the usual US media hypocrisy where the liberal/left side gets a walk for engaging in the exact same stupidity that the conservative/right corner gets roasted over.

I say that I need to hear more, also, when the FUCK did Huffington Post become a news source? I might as well post Little Green Footballs and Right Wing news links as sources.

She still comes off as a bit of a nut in the video. Barack saw the writing on the wall and has decided to distance himself from the Rev, who is yet another religious wackjob, hopefully Palin does the same. It wouldnt hurt if she took the high road and saved her religion for her personal life. Besides the remark about the Iraq Invasion being a mission from God, I saw the rest as pandering to a religious crowed, something all politicians do.

lily lily:
pssst, thanos...

I think that's the point being made here. ;)

Yeah, but it did take at least 6 posts before anyone even mentioned Rev. Wright. So the question remains as to why it would be assumed that Obama, after his public repudiation of Wright a couple of months ago, is not considered to be a mindless zombie follower of his church but that Palin is?

Personally I'd like to see all of religion everywhere take a hike permanently but that doesn't automatically mean that I believe all religious folks are mindless vessels that evil preachers have poured all their hatred into (even though too many followers obviously are). All I'd say is that it's not like Sarah Palin got brought up from age five in some millenialist evangelical madrassa or something. What is the general assumption anyway, that if McCain dies in office and she takes over that the Pastor Kroon, or whatever the fuck his name is, is going to call her up from Wasilla and order her to nuke the Chinese or something? Hell, GW Bush belongs to the same evangelical goofiness as Palin, and is easily as twice as stupid as Palin could ever be, and only the worst of the fearmongers went on about how he was going to destroy the world "cause God told him to".

Like I said, I might not vote for McCain/Palin if I were an American, but I wouldn't be living in total fear of what she might do if she ended up in charge. I see no evidence whatsoever that Sarah Palin is some kind of crusader nutcase, so I'm going to put down all discussion of her religious beliefs as the work of the usual suspects in the professional fearmongering industry. This whole thing is as fucking stupid as the bullshit regularly brought up by the haters whenever they try to score some idiotic point by smearing Stephen Harper as some kind of "theo-Con". Evidence please, or they can all shut the fuck up and drop dead.

I dont think the Pastor has any pull over her really, he might give advice but as for being a puppet.... I think thats the wrong image to present. I think most people are worried for another run of Bush like tactics, bringing the states further down the wrong path. Really there is nothing I can do about I, all I can do is hope who ever is voted in is able to do the best job possible.

Why is everyone comparing Obama to Palin? Shouldn't she be compared and contrasted with Biden, or do you all think that McCain will get elected and then croak? Honestly, I think the people that a potential president would look to for advice should come under closer scrutiny than those a potential VP hangs with, because they are one step removed from the throne.

I personally like Palin because she doesn't bring that air of entitlement, that Obama and most other Democrats seem to reek of(much like our own Liberal Party). To me he's just another 'cookie cutter' politician.
