andyt andyt: I just hope this doesn't all backfire and he becomes the victim and gets re-elected next time. This just ensures victory next election. The silent majority will come out again.

From the outside (BC) looking in, this looks a lot like the infamous mob boss Al Capone being taken down for tax evasion. True, Ford's infraction was $3k to a kids charity but it was a conflict of interest. Do not pass GO, do not collect 200$ full stop. Who know's in 2 years he may well run again and win in a land slide but for now he is out. The rules are there for a reason, we don't want people thinking the big TO is Quebec redux do we? Quebec’s corruption probe and Club 357: It’s evidence, but what does it prove?

I think Rob Ford forgot that left-wing people are actually clever. Ford was the architect of his own downfall. Lots of silly mistakes. I doubt he will get in again.
The Toronto lefties may get off their pinkie arses and vote en masse next time and it won't be for a Ford. The Toronto Star will have 50% less stories in it though.

When notified that he was allowed to run in a by-election, Rob Ford responded: "Bi-election? I will not participate in anything having anything to do with gays, lesbians and bisexuals."

Delwin Delwin: A short list of Rob Ford's Gaffes and a good illustration of his total disregard for Public process. http://shitrobfordsdone.tumblr.com/page/2you should see his predecessors Gaff list, it's much longer than that! If you think this guy is bad, Miller was a complete moron.

Personally, I think he got shafted. That's no reason to boot someone from office. If the judge had no choice--even though the judge admitted that there was no corruption involved--then the law, in this case, is an ass.

Somehow I doubt it.

I am always sceptical of polls, as they are not always very accurate.however, if there is any degree of accuracy to the latest angus reid poll on Ford's chances of re-election, then I don't think Toronto has anything to worry about: http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/cityhal ... l-suggests

They have been printing anything negative they can find/make up about Ford since he was a mayoral candidate.
