EyeBrock EyeBrock:
And no evidence to support the political thing Curt. Just a very slanted and unfounded TorStar article.

This happens every election. I remember way back during the '93 election, a friend of mine volunteered with Dorothy Dobbie's campaign, and used to tell me about the horrible things that happened to their supporters. Apparently on one day of door knocking, 3 different people spit in Dorothy's face. I'm sure that has something to do with why she's a gardener now. I don't care who people vote for as long as they have respect for a democratic election. It's more than just a Toronto Star article.

In the local council elections, I had one candidates sign up for mayor and I endorsed my sitting councillor and allowed his sign too. Well whoever put the sign up knocked the mayoral candidates sign down.

Petty but these people supporting various campaigns are like that. No more signs on my lawn.

We didn't put up a sign in previous elections, but we have one this year. I spend a fair bit of time on the front porch, and I've had a few people stop and talk about the election since we got it. I think I might keep it up after May 2. :)

Pat Martin is a decent guy. If he was in my riding I might be tempted to vote for him.

Even after the Louis Riel exoneration bill? 3 times?

He was also the one who led the Opposition lynch mob against Brian Mulroney over the 15-year-old alleged "crimes" committed during the Airbus affair. Martin was almost single-handedly responsible for turning a crooked little goof like Karl-Heinz Schrieber, now serving time for fraud and larceny back home in Germany, into the Man Of The Hour. Martin's more than a bit of a hack if you ask me.

The Reil thing is silly but apparently a lot of you chaps don't think so and Martin is representing what his constituents think.

That’s what the sales guys are supposed to be doing in Ottawa. I can’t knock him for that, Dipper and Reil supporter or not.

You guys have convinced me that it's wrong to exonerate a guilty person.

A pardon in the right circumstances isn't a bad thing. People are allowed to make mistakes. Reil et al is more than that, it's re-writing history.

$1:
Harper can take immediate steps to get Parliament to exonerate Riel.

"We're asking the prime minister today to not wait for a bill like this to make its way through Parliament," Martin said.

The PMO did not respond to a request for comment.

Neither of the two Métis members of Parliament, Manitoba Conservative MPs Rod Bruinooge and Shelly Glover, were available to comment.

It's a strange government though.
