Yep, I paid for a ride on The Lanc. Worth every damn penny and more. TBH I'd have happily paid $5000 for the honour.

I paid $3,000USD to fly a P-51 Mustang this past January. They have an arrangement with the Avon Bombing Range which is restricted air space. Once there you can fly it any way you want. Loops, rolls, stalls....whatever. I pulled a 4.5G turn at 350knots.......THAT was cool. 8)

Now that is worth bragging rights. I've always been a fan of the Hawker Sea Fury. That's a nice looking kite and well fast. I know the Confederate Air Force have one. Regina, any inside gen on the Sea Fury?

The Museum in Nanton AB (about an 1.5 hours south of Calgary) has a refurbished Lanc (not flightworthy), as well as about a dozen other planes from the BCATP era.

Not on that one, I think I've only seen one in the Yoevilton Naval Air Museum. Before flying the Mustang my first love is the Spitfire...........and there's one in Colorado which I believe is only $2,000 to fly. A friend of mine flew in a two seat Spitfire in the UK a few years ago. The prick also flew in a single seat Spitfire........on his dad's lap.
