Another few thoughts;

Looking at the Zimmerman thread, I'm thinking "that's what you get when News is for Profit". Along with the Ezra Levants and Glenn Becks.

Looking at PBS, VOA, BBC, CBC, ABC (Austrailian Broadcasting Corp) . . .that's what you get when news is publicly funded and for the benefit of the people.

Which would everyone rather have feeding you news; Peter Mansbridge, Ezra Levant or Stephen Harper?

How may of the most popular are from the CBC or BBC? Go through many of the most active threads here and see where they story originated. I bet a large number came because FOI requests from the CBC.

As long as they don't interfere with CBC Hockey Night in Canada, I don't much care what they do with it. Other than sports related broadcasts, I rarely watch CBC.
